Unlike traditional wool coatings that require a lining to create comfort, Double Brushed Wool is brushed on both sides. This specialised finishing process lifts the natural fibres, creating an incredibly soft, smooth texture inside and out.

The result is a fabric that feels luxurious directly against the skin.

Because the fabric itself provides such comfort, many of our Double Brushed Wool coats are intentionally designed without lining.

This is not a cost-saving measure—it is a deliberate design decision.

Care Guide

Double Brushed Wool is a premium and specialized finish that deserves thoughtful care.

To keep your coat looking its best:

  • Hang on a wide, structured hanger to maintain its shape.
  • Steam gently instead of ironing whenever possible.
  • Remove surface dust with a soft clothes brush.
  • Spot clean minor marks with a damp cloth.
  • Dry clean only when necessary to help preserve the natural fibres.
  • Store in a breathable garment bag during the off-season.

With proper care, your Double Brushed Wool coat is designed to remain a wardrobe favourite for many years.

  • Unpacking your Coat

    When your coat arrives, it may have some wrinkles from its journey. Hang it in the bathroom during a hot shower to steam out any creases.

    Then, touch up any spots using an iron on a low setting or a steamer. The coat will look so fresh and crisp and we hope you’ll be very happy together.

  • Removing Tags:

    Once unpacked, carefully remove all tags. However, keep any additional swing tags with spare closures for future use.

  • Preparing for Wear:

    Before wearing your coat, cut open any sewn pockets and the back vent to ensure full functionality and comfort.

  • Steaming:

    Occasionally, your coat may need a refresh. Use a steamer to gently remove any wrinkles and keep it looking fresh and crisp. Belle & Bloom coats are dry clean only. If you happen to have a spill, blot the fabric carefully, don’t rub! Consult a dry cleaner for additional help. We recommend that you dry clean the coat at the beginning AND end of the season.

  • Lint Removal:

    After wearing, use a lint roller to remove any surface soil or lint, keeping your coat looking immaculate.

  • Storage:

    Avoid hanging your coat in direct sunlight, as it may cause the color to fade. Use a special coat hanger with wider shoulders to maintain its shape.Seasonal Storage: At the end of the season, dry clean your coat and store it in a dust bag or a special garment bag to protect it from moths.
