Winter in Sydney, despite the early sun sneaking into our bedroom windows masquerading as a warm summer's days, bites the moment we step onto city streets. Belle & Bloom's wool blend coatsand large blanket style scarves kept us warm on our morning and evening commutes. But what now? What comes next? Sydney's in lockdown, the only place we'll be wearing our favourite party dresses and dancing shoeswill be with yellow rubber cleaning gloves (the finest accessory of the year, really) to scrub dishes after we recommit to quarantine body season.
We'll all happily get back into our comfy kits, hair in ponytails, glasses of wine in one hand and a book in the other. All we needed was an excuse.
Our team here at Belle & Bloom sat down with the Sydney lockdown looming and created our very own Lockdown Lounge Edit. Pieces perfect for the next coming weeks, many winters to come and hopefully no more lockdowns.
Our Head Apparel Designer, Julia, likes to cozy up with the cream Higher Love Cropped Cable Knit Jumper whilst making her favourite Italian dish, Pappardelle, braised Aylesbury duck with chestnut & marjoram pangrattato to eat in front of the fireplace with her partner.
Camila, our resident designer, prefers to stay warm in the blush Young Hearts Knit Jumper during lockdown. She pairs the fine knit side slit detailed wool blend sweater with a pair of black stretch faux leather pants. It's the perfect stay at home date outfit to cuddle up with her fiancé while at the same time, only half watching the Billy Crystal/Meg Ryan classic, 'When Harry Met Sally'.
I, on the other hand, Saire, the Head of Digital Marketing, I'm the one, home alone, dressed up in the Summer Storm Velvet Midi Dress and the black Austin Croc Embossed Boots dancing to Otis Redding in my kitchen, cocktail not nearly close enough, washing the dishes. I'm not sorry outside is closed.
